After Mobius - Sally

So... what was meant to be a one-off idea in this sketch compilation ultimately blossomed into a concept I couldn't let go after all.
"Freedom Fighters: After Mobius" would be a short story arc featuring the main cast in a darker alternative future to what appears to be the canon of what they're primarily in (taking inspirado from Frank Miller's post-apocalyptic Batman). In this incarnation of the Sonic-verse, Dr. Robotnik has been undefeated and corrupting planet Mobius for about 23 years straight, burning the Great Forest and polluting pretty much the whole world. The Freedom Fighters have taken refuge on the crashed wreck of one of his Doomsday ships (more in line with the original Sega Genesis games and not the cartoon) marooned in the ocean and made it their base of operation.
The group, now having grown into adulthood, almost into their 30s, amongst this constant struggle to survive have adapted to defend themselves and to better fight back against the robotic horde plaguing their home. This has required them to take up arms and to acknowledge the simple fact that their plight cannot be resolved with anything short of the demise of the evil doctor, as his machines will only keep coming if they only reacted to the individual attacks; that they must go on the offensive and do more than just disrupt his plots and escape to fight another day, but that they have to move to take out the head of the serpent himself.

This image in particular is to highlight some costume features of Sally in this story.
Of note, she wears her wedding ring around her neck. While now bonded together, Sally and Sonic have not taken position as Queen and King respectively due to the highly fragmented nature of the Kingdom. In fact, Sally has set aside even the title of Princess and simply assumed the role of Squad Leader of her band of resistance fighters against Robotnik. Her marriage however is one last bit of solace in the state of the world as it is, and a constant reminder of how much she has to fight for.
Nicole has been upgraded multiple times by Rotor for Sally, with such features as being mounted on her wrist as a motion scanner with a swivel display and dynamically aiming a laser in sync with where Sally is aiming. She's also patched into Sally's radio, strapped on her shoulder, allowing her to actively assist as an AI for the whole team rather than just as a single localized PDA unit.
